Prof Kiley Seymour

Associate Professor Kiley Seymour is a neuroscientist, with international expertise in ultra-high field brain imaging. Her research has examined the neural basis of perception and belief generation and has been one of the first neuroscientists to apply machine learning algorithms to decode mental states from brain data. Her current work examines the effects of technology on brain and behaviour with particular focus on neurotechnology, mental privacy, and cognitive liberty. 

 

Kiley is Chair of the ethics committee for experimental psychology at the University of Technology Sydney. She is dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of scientific research, the protection of personal data, and the ethical and responsible use and development of technology. 

 

She is an executive member of Australia's Organization for Human Brain Mapping and advocates for advancement of neurotechnology with privacy embedded into its design.
