Erdem Büyüksagis

Erdem Büyüksagis, who holds both Turkish and Swiss citizenship, is Professor at Yeditepe University (Türkiye) and the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). He is also chief director of the Yeditepe University Informatics and Artificial Intelligence Research Centre. Professor Büyüksagis mainly lectures on contract law, international business law, torts, and artificial intelligence law.

After graduating from the University of Ankara and earning his PhD from the University of Fribourg, he obtained his LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Centre and subsequently was a Fulbright visiting scholar at Stanford University for the academic year 2018-2019.

Professor Büyüksagis has done extensive research on, among others, product safety and product liability. Some of his works were cited by the Swiss Federal Court. His current research focuses on applications in the field of neurotechnology that raise issues of privacy, autonomy, discrimination, and product safety
