
Eduardo Demetrio Crespo
Born in Solothurn (1970). PhD from the University of Salamanca (1997) and Full
Professor of Criminal Law at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (2011).
Research Fellow at the Ministry of Education and Science (1994-1997), the
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Cologne (2005-2006),
the Max Planck Society (2008), the Hanseatic Institute for Advanced Study
(2010), and the Salvador de MadariagaProgram of the Spanish Ministry of
Education, Culture, and Sport at the European University Institute in Florence
(2016). He has conducted research stays in Germany, the United Kingdom, and
Italy.

(2019), Doctor Honoris Causa by the Universidad Togatorumde México (2021),

(2022), and Honorary Member of the Argentine Academy of Criminal Sciences
(2023). He is a member of various scientific committees and advisory or
editorial boards, including the Book Series Legal Studies in International,
European, and Comparative Criminal Law (Springer) and the Journal Forensic
and Legal Psychology (Frontiers) as a reviewer. He is also the Director of the
Basic Library of Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences Collection, published by
Iustel.
