
Dr Dion Kelly
Dr. Dion Kelly is an accomplished neuroscientist and entrepreneur at the forefront of pediatric BCI technology. Earning her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Calgary, she specialized in optimizing BCIs for children with severe neurological disabilities, enhancing their engagement with daily life. Dr. Kelly spearheaded the implementation of in-home BCI systems, a pivotal advancement amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, enabling continued access to critical technology for children with disabilities and their families. A recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and the Top 40 Under 40 Award, Dr. Kelly's work in pediatric BCI has not only garnered international recognition, leading to influential publications and presentations at global conferences, but has also been instrumental in introducing similar in-home BCI programs across Canada. Building on her PhD research, Dr. Kelly co-founded Possibility Neurotechnologies, driving its vision to enhance life participation for individuals with communication and mobility challenges. As CEO, she has secured significant funding, guiding the company through early growth stages while driving technology development for equitable access to BCI-facilitated control of everyday devices.
